Who we are: For more than 15 years, the Technopref Precast Division has been producing high-precision precast concrete elements for the tunnelling industry. Our team of experts utilizes the most advanced technology and state of the art production equipment in order to meet the requirements of the tunnel builders. To date we have produced 150 000 precast tunnel liner segments for a total of more than 22 miles (35 kilometers) of tunnels for some of the most demanding projects.


Position Summary
Technopref is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the production of precast concrete tunnel liner segments.
 
The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Operations Manager and Production Superintendent to track daily production, coordinate materials and project information, and follow up on issues affecting the plant. The role combines plant coordination with project administration and requires practical knowledge of concrete and precast production.

Working Conditions
This is a full-time position (40–50 hours per week) performed on-site at the Connecticut production facility. Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
 
Responsibilities and Duties
Production coordination
  • Track daily segment production with the Production Superintendent, including quantities produced, production rates, delays and progress against the plan.
  • Help maintain the short-term production plan and identify upcoming needs for moulds, materials, labour and equipment.
  • Monitor production issues and follow up with the responsible team members until they are resolved.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory and delivery records, and prepare regular updates for the Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate with the yard and shipping teams to confirm segment availability and support planned deliveries.

Materials and technical follow-up
  • Coordinate purchase requests and follow up on the delivery of parts, tools, inserts, mould components and other production materials.
  • Monitor material needs and flag potential shortages before they affect production.
  • Work with production, quality and technical personnel to identify and follow up on concrete, mould and segment issues.
  • Review fabrication drawings and specifications as needed to help resolve production questions and coordinate changes with the appropriate team members.
  • Help track mould modifications, repairs and other technical actions that could affect production.

Project administration and client coordination
  • Assist with progress pay applications by gathering and verifying production and delivery quantities and supporting documents.
  • Help prepare and track project submittals, RFIs and responses to client comments, coordinating input from production, quality and technical personnel.
  • Attend client and project meetings as needed, provide production updates, record action items and follow up on commitments.
  • Gather and verify information requested by the client, and coordinate responses with the Operations Manager before submission.
  • Help compile production and quality records required for project reporting and client submissions.
  • Track open items, meeting decisions and assigned actions, and follow up with the people responsible.
  • Maintain organized project documents, including drawings, correspondence, reports, purchase records and production data.
  • Communicate production status and emerging issues to the Operations Manager in a timely manner.
 
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and experience
  • Experience in precast concrete, concrete production, heavy civil construction or a related industrial environment.
  • A degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management or a related field is an asset; relevant practical experience will also be considered.

Core skills
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with plant personnel, suppliers and project management.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Technical skills
  • Practical understanding of concrete production, precast components and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and project specifications.
  • Comfortable discussing moulds and concrete issues with production and technical personnel.
  • Ability to track production quantities and identify differences between planned and actual output.

Computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for tracking quantities and preparing reports.

Assets
  • Experience with tunnel liner segments or other complex precast concrete products.
  • Experience preparing progress pay applications or coordinating purchasing for a construction project.
  • Familiarity with production planning, inventory tracking or construction document control.
